About Amanda McLeod
Creating art that evokes meaning and tells stories, is something Amanda McLeod cannot live without. From a young age, Amanda was dreaming up wild stories and creating art to go along with them. Her father and mother both imparted on her a desire for the fantastic and creative. She adopted a variety of hobbies (maybe too many) with crafts, games and gardening.
Her style is refined with impressionistic brush strokes. She works in both oils and soft pastels and occasionally dabbles in other media. Most of her work are landscapes and florals; however, she is currently branching out into style life and figurative work. She also enjoys imaginative realism, bringing the fantastic to life. Later in 2024, she will be sharing her endeavors in the unreal and magical.
Amanda graduated from Rocky Mountain College of Art + Design with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustrations, specializing in Children’s Books Illustration. Shortly after she went on to earn her masters in Business Administration. Never really leaving the art scene, Amanda worked in operations and later on as a marketing manager for an E-Commerce store. Through out her corporate adventures, she never stopped creating art and participated in art festivals and competitions.
Her latest adventure brings her to southern Colorado in Trinidad where she currently resides in a hundred year old brick craftsman house, slowly restoring it. Her studio is the spacious 2nd floor filled with artwork, supplies and antiques.
